Compass Datacenters, a leading provider of dedicated, mission-critical data centers, has entered into a referral agreement with Salute Incorporated that supports Salute’s mission of helping American military veterans secure jobs in the data center industry. Salute, Inc.’s staff of veterans provides data center cleaning services to data center providers across the country, exposing veterans to job opportunities in the technology industry that enable them to build a successful career after their military service is completed. Through this referral agreement, Compass will establish a dialogue between Salute and each Compass customer, enabling customers to contract with Salute for data center cleaning services that assists Salute with its mission of helping veterans identify new career opportunities.

“Salute is founded by and run by veterans, and they are doing great work helping other veterans put their skills and experience to work in the data center industry. We strongly believe in Salute’s mission, which is why we are making this referral program a standard part of our CompassCare™ services,” said Chris Crosby, CEO of Compass Datacenters. “The efforts of organizations like Salute help serve those who have served our country, and the Compass team is very proud to be working with them. We expect this to be very fruitful for both our customers and for the veterans that Salute works with.”

Salute, Inc. was founded by Lee Kirby, who is both a retired Army officer and a highly-regarded data center expert who is currently SVP at The Uptime Institute. Mr. Kirby is a service disabled combat veteran who retired from the U.S Army with the rank of Colonel after a 36 year career that included multiple deployments including Afghanistan and Iraq.

“Referral agreements like this one with Compass open doors for veterans and allow these talented individuals to start careers in the industry that is building critical technology infrastructure for the 21st century economy,” said Lee Kirby, Founder of Salute, Inc. “We introduce veterans to the data center industry by providing cleaning services to data center providers and their customers,  enabling the veterans we employ to learn about data center facilities from top to bottom and use that experience as a stepping stone to much more. Our procedures and veterans discipline combined provide a better product to the market.  Every year, 30 percent or more of the veterans who are hired through Salute ‘graduate up’ by moving on to higher-level positions in the industry. That is a testament to the tremendous skills and work ethic of members of our Armed Services.”
